Menus are created around local produce and an ever changing chalk board of seasonal flavours brings an element of old fashioned style to the Restaurant. To this day, bread is still baked daily on the premises and you need only to follow your nose to find our charming location in the heart of Oxford Street, Southampton. Our regulars might advise you to stick to an old time Olivetree favourite; ‘confit of Barbary duck on creamed sweet potato and a forest fruit reduction’ or perhaps a starter of ‘gravadlax of organic salmon on a beetroot and rocket salad with a sweet dill dressing’ but don’t be swayed on commendation – trust our skilled chefs to provide you with the classics as well as a range of exciting combinations with a modern Mediterranean twist. Throughout this taste exploration our chefs never complicate dishes or confuse the wonderful taste of fresh natural ingredients. We are also famous for our array of seafood dishes which are adapted daily to accommodate the local morning catch – keep an eye on our specials board for the freshest seafood around; ‘char-grilled loin of tuna on a rocket and marinated artichoke salad’ to name just one. Vegetarians have relied on us over the years to present a different take on universal veggie dishes found on the ‘typical menu’ and delight in the extensive choices available at Olivetree. Try our ‘Filo pastry layered with spinach, ricotta and pine nuts served with red pepper and green olive salsa’. Of course our award-winning wines would complete the Olivetree experience.
